Lion King Jr. -- Musical
Monarch Theatre Company’s final show was the Lion King Jr., in which I was cast as Simba. Throughout the show, Simba cowardly flees from his horrendous past, but after an encounter with his father, courageously faces his memories and overcomes them. In this show I learned the difference between acting and overacting.
In Monarch Theatre Company’s final show, Lion King Jr., I had the opportunity to play Simba. Defeated and alone, I seek for safety in ignorance until finally realizing that who I really am can only be uncovered by facing my past.
I was cast as Simba in Lion King Jr., Monarch Theatre Company’s final show. Finally choosing to confront his convoluted memories, he enacts the symbol of allegiance to his pride for the first time since his father’s death years ago.
In Monarch Theatre Company’s final show, Lion King Jr., I performed as Simba. Bravely facing his past, Simba confronts his evil uncle Scar. Violently throwing Scar to the ground, Simba threatens his uncle’s life.
I had the incredible opportunity to perform as Simba in Lion King Jr. with Monarch Theatre Company. During this show I learned much, especially how to be still and solid onstage, which can create a much larger impact than overacting. I also was able to practice stage relationships and make them more realistic than ever before.
